The course addresses the major issues in wireless networks, emphasizing broad coverage of topics, including wireless channel characterization, physical layer description, multiple access techniques, network planning and transport issues, wireless standards (WWAN, WMAN, WLAN).
The course will be given in English as the counterpart of the "Reti Wireless" course (in Italian), offered for the Telematics curriculum in the "Laurea Specialistica" degree in Telecommunications Engineering. The course (6 + 3 ECTS credits) is given in the second year, first semester of the "Laurea Specialistica" degree in Telecommunications Engineering. The course dedicates approximately 54 hours to lectures, numerical exercises, and computer laboratory using Matlab.
